Im writing this because Google recently added 2 great programs for optional downloads in the Google pack.

Spyware Doctor Starter Edition and Norton Security Scan

I hate software that runs in the background. Spyware Doctor Starter Edition and Norton Security Scan are both free and don’t include the components that run background processes which slow down your computer. WIN WIN.

Spyware Doctor is great! I use to download it off torrent sites but I never used all the features and couldn’t update the spyware definitions without reinstalling the program or recracking it. Total pain. The Starter Edition is just the scan engine with full definition updates.

Anyone that uses Norton knows how annoying it is. I hate the realtime protection and firewall. Some people I know cant even uninstall it from their systems. The Norton Security Scan is just the scan engine with full definition updates.

As far as I know these programs are only available through the Google Pack which requires the Google Updater. Unfortunately, the Google Updater runs at startup and in the background after its been installed so I chose I uninstal it after my software was installed. They all still work and update.

Its no secret that Google plans to take over the world. Well at least the internet world. If they keep rolling out the free apps im voting Google in the next election.

Funny Or Die was created by Gary Sanchez Productions and a bunch of Silicon Valley guys who drive Hondas and watch old episodes of Babylon Five. Venture capitalist, Mark Kvamme and his son came up with a concept for a new kind of comedy site and approached Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s company, Gary Sanchez Productions. They wanted to eliminate all the junk that people have to pick through to find funny stuff. So they came up with the funny or die idea.

The site is simple. Vote on the videos and decide whether they’re funny or die a fiery death. Videos that get enough die votes go to the crypt where they languish in comedy hell. But ones that reach immortal status shall make people laugh forever (even ten thousand years from now when mankind becomes floating orbs of energy. If they can laugh, those future orbs will be laughing at your video). If you don’t want to mess around with lame videos of twelve year olds rapping at a family barbecue then check the status of the video to see how it’s doing.

Final Word: Funny Stuff

This is a great link. Some dude named Ishkur put together this tutorial on the different types of electronic music and instruments. Each bubble click plays at least one sample of that style of music. Some music types link back their associated radio stations.
